Cinnamon Yams


Got yams on your plan and looking for a way to “spice” them up? This is a super quick and easy way to make yams even more delicious and flavorful without any added calories.



-30 oz yams (raw weight)
-1 tbsp cinnamon
-1 tsp sea salt
-1 tsp ground pepper



bowlPre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cut the ends off each yam, slice in half, and place in a colander. Once you’re done cutting all of your yams, rinse them thoroughly with water. Shake dry in the colander, and transfer over to a mixing bowl. Distribute half of cinnamon, salt and pepper over top, mix thoroughly into yams and pull the yams from the bottom of the bowl up to the top. Distribute remaining seasonings and again thoroughly combine.


Place on baking tray lined with tin foil and lightly sprayed with low cal no stick spray. Bake for 30-40 mins or until you can poke a fork right through the yams.



These freeze really well, so you can cook in bulk and pull them throughout the week or avoid wasting any extras.


Serving size depends on your meal plan, but for a 4 oz (cooked weight serving) the macros are as follows:
Protein: 0 grams Carbs: 32 grams Fat: 0 grams Fibre: 4 grams
